Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She works for ESPN and is a SportsCenter anchor for news. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. It is this skill that helped her get her first role as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. She collaborated with producers for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next job was as a Sports Reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she worked as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5 pm. She was an anchor for the news channel in English for 9 pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm before returning to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. Anchor duties on sports and weather was regularly requested. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor herself. She was appointed as the sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. As a sports anchor she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents were originally of Veracruz Mexico. The family relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She has an older sister. She is the older sister. In 1992, her parents divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. It was on a time of summer when she was with her sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered the job. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she would like her life to look like, traveled to Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. The campus was stunning as well as offered the level of education she wanted. When she finished high school, she decided to enroll at the university to pursue a degree with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she is a member. They formed a strong relationship. His passion for journalism and confidence in herself inspired her. She, in turn was determined to achieve his expectations and never let him down.
