Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it together with Rihanna. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On the 9th November, she released another two singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then on the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. On February 20, 2019 a music video was released for the song. It already has over three millions views on YouTube within its first week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
